                     Appointment of Non-Executive Director 
 
Wincanton plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Paul Dean as an 
Independent Non-Executive director of the Company effective from 1st February 
2015. Mr Dean will also be appointed as a member of the Company's Audit, 
Nomination and Remuneration committees. It is envisaged that Mr Dean will chair 
the Audit Committee in due course. 
 
Mr Dean is currently a Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chairman of 
Polypipe Group plc, Focusrite Plc and Porvair Plc, where he was also appointed 
as the Senior Independent Director in April 2014. He is also a Trustee and 
Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee for a national literacy charity, 
Beanstalk. 
 
Mr Dean was previously Chief Financial Officer of Rio Tinto Diamonds during 
2013, and prior to that was Group Finance Director of Ultra Electronics 
Holdings plc from 2009 to 2013 and Foseco plc from 2001 to 2008.

Mr Dean does not currently hold any Wincanton plc shares and no further 
information in connection with his appointment is required to be disclosed
