LONDON--Wincanton PLC (WIN.LN), a provider of supply chain services in the U.K. and Ireland, Tuesday announced that Pernod Ricard U.K., part of the Pernod Ricard Group, has awarded a five year warehousing and distribution contract for its U.K. warehousing, repacking and customer delivery transport operations.
MAIN FACTS:
-As part of the contract renewal Wincanton will handle in excess of 7 million cases annually from its HMRC-approved bonded facility in Corby, Northamptonshire, where the team will also be responsible for:
* Labelling (duty stamping) of individual bottles
* Repackaging of bottles to facilitate pack size changes
* Product customization, including repackaging into gift boxes and application of neck tags to bottles
* Building of point of sale display units
-Shares at 0736 GMT up 2 pence, or 3.6%, at 57 pence.
