DALLAS, Jan. 17, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Affinity
Chemical LLC (http://www.affinitychemical.com), a leading supplier
of bulk aluminum sulfate and other specialty chemicals, has
announced construction is nearing completion for its aluminum
sulfate ("alum") manufacturing plant in the South Industrial Park,
Prattville, AL.
The facility, which is expected to start up by mid-December 2020, sits on a multi-acre site with
proximity to I-85, I-65, and railway connections. It is being
developed to quickly bring online additional specialty chemical
production as needed by Alabama's
growing industrial base.
The new facility's location north of Montgomery, AL, was chosen due to the strong
local business community and excellent workforce. It represents
Affinity Chemical's commitment to partnering with its industrial,
pulp and paper, environmental, and municipal customers to provide
high quality aluminum sulfate with price security and dependable
service.
"Affinity was born and continues to grow on one founding
principle: understand the customers' needs and deliver solutions to
them through effective partnerships," says Lance Johnson, Affinity Chemical's managing
partner. "We collaborate with both our customers and supply chain
partners to build regional infrastructure so that we can offer
consistent alum product along with exemplary service and
transparent, predictable pricing."
Environmentally friendly production
"We know Alabama is a leader in
the development of clean chemical production, so we are happy to
report our facility produces alum via a zero-emission, aluminum
trihydrate (ATH) process," says Johnson.
Moreover, Affinity recycles excess alum from one batch and add
it to the next batch, reducing waste and keeping raw material costs
low. As a result, the Prattville
plant has a small footprint with no by-products or waste streams.
It does not need either on-site or off-site chemical waste
collection or disposal.
