CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 21, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- (Calgary, Alberta) As reported in The Guardian of Sept. 16, 2020, the documentary "I am Greta" hits movie screens in Canada and is soon to hit the USA, revealing the sad and lonely tale of youth climate activist Greta Thunberg, but Swedes are pushing back on her dystopian view of climate change, says Friends of Science Society. Swedish scientist Gösta Pettersson's book "False Alarm/Falskt Alarm" is now available in English from Elsa Widding's Klimatkarusellen website. Widding has presented a portion of his view in an English video "Presentation of the book False Alarm".

The Guardian review describes the film "I Am Greta" as slick, but shallow. The reviewer, Peter Bradshaw, notes: "And what about her family? There's a lot about her horses and dogs, something about her Asperger's condition which she says gives her an ability to "see through the static". Interesting – is it true? I would have liked to hear from a health professional."

Michelle Stirling, Communications Manager for Friends of Science says what struck her most in the film is, "There is almost no family interaction in "I Am Greta". A haunting scene toward the end shows Greta, alone in the racing yacht at sea, burning with frustration, rage, and tears, bearing the burden of this adult-arranged publicity stunt on her slim, naïve shoulders."

By contrast, the Swedish trio of Ulf Gabrielsson, Carl Johan Thore, and Elsa Widding have produced a climate song called "Changing Your Mind", with joyful lyrics and an optimistic happy melody, posted on the Friends of Science YouTube as a music video. The clip counters the depressing, apocalyptic, panic-filled world view that "Our house is on fire", promoted by Greta and clinical psychologist Margaret Klein Salamon of Climate Mobilization.

Some 37 Swedish scientists and scholars have signed the CLINTEL World Climate Declaration (which has more than 900 international signatories) that there is no climate emergency, that natural factors are more influential than human industrial carbon dioxide emissions in driving climate change, and that NetZero2050 policies are detrimental to society and unattainable with present technologies.

Another Swedish scientist who has spoken out against climate emergency panic is Dr. Hans Jelbring. Interviewed by Friends of Science in 2018 at the Porto Climate Conference, Dr. Jelbring notes that there has been deep indoctrination on climate dogma in Swedish schools, and that the Church of Sweden even invited James Hansen to speak there. Dr. Jelbring noted in the interview that as a scientist he has no use for the IPCC, and the dogmatic ideology.

Another Swedish CLINTEL signatory is Ingemar Nordin, professor of philosophy at Linköping University, who is editor of the very popular climate realist blog Klimatupplysningen. Nordin's most recent book is "Using Knowledge: On the Rationality of Science, Technology, and Medicine".

As reported by Metro UK on Feb. 28, 2020, though Greta has told crowds of people that adults "… are behaving like children, so it falls on us to be the adults in the room..' perhaps she, her handlers, and her followers should listen to these many Swedish adult scientists and scholars, and think twice about invoking fear, and instead apply critical thinking, says Friends of Science.

Friends of Science Society's most recent reports on Canada's efforts to create a 'green' resilient recovery show that the country is headed for penury – extreme poverty – unless government policies on NetZero2050 and related regulations like Bill C-69, Bill C-48 and IAAC are repealed.
Penury or Prosperity?

About
Friends of Science Society is an independent group of earth, atmospheric and solar scientists, engineers, and citizens that is celebrating its 18th year of offering climate science insights. After a thorough review of a broad spectrum of literature on climate change, Friends of Science Society has concluded that the sun is the main driver of climate change, not carbon dioxide (CO2).
