M ris Ku ickis - appointed CEO of DTEK Renewables B.V

M ris Ku ickis, former CEO of DTEK Kyiv Grids, has been appointed CEO of DTEK Renewables. His key responsibilities in this position are to ensure the operational and financial efficiency of the company, and to implement the business strategy.

M ris Ku ickis succeeds Philipp Leckebusch, who will undertake new responsibilities within DTEK. In the new role Philipp Leckebusch will focus on efficient, profitable and secure use of technologies across DTEK .

Philipp Leckebusch said: " For me it was a privilege to successfully lead DTEK Renewables during the phase of rapid development. Together with the DTEK Renewables highly skilled team, we have firmly positioned the company as a leader of the Ukrainian renewable energy market. M ris Ku ickis is a manager with many years of experience in the energy sector in European companies. Before joining DTEK, he was a member of the board and Chief Operating Officer of Latvenergo (Latvia), as well as a deputy member of the board of directors of the Union of the Electricity Industry Eurelectric, vice president and member of the board of the Latvian Association of Power Engineers and Energy Constructors. He joined the DTEK team in 2018 as the Development Director of DTEK Grids. Later he headed DTEK Kyiv Grids.

The forecasted output of DTEK Renewables in 2020 is 2.5 billion kWh of green electricity. This is enough to cover electricity demand of 1.3 million households during a year. In 2020, it is expected that DTEK Renewables will avoid 2.6 million tons of CO(2) emissions into the atmosphere, due to the electricity generated from the renewable sources.
