AUSTIN, Texas, April 16, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Utilis
participated in a Texas state
legislative committee hearing on April
9th and was subsequently recognized on both the Senate floor
by Senator Brandon Creighton and on
the House floor by Representative Phil
King. Utilis CEO, Elly
Perets, spoke before the Senate Committee of Business and
Commerce to advocate for a bill that seeks to prioritize and
strengthen the relationship between Texas and Israel.
"We are truly honored to have the opportunity to speak before
the Senate Committee in support of this important legislation." CEO
Elly Perets expressed when asked for
comment. "Pro-Israel legislation such as this makes us want to
prioritize doing business in Texas
and help save Texas taxpayer
dollars by bringing our innovative technology to this market."
Texas Senate Bill 491 further
clarifies and strengthens Texas
state law which prohibits the State of
Texas from contracting with and investing in companies that
boycott Israel.
"We're here to stand with Israel. And we're going to continue to stand
with Israel, … businesses are
allowed, with the passage of this bill, to continue to discriminate
against Israel…but not with Texas
taxpayer dollars." Senator Brandon
Creighton of Texas stated
in response to an opponent of the proposed law.
