GILBERT, Ariz., April 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- During the Canada Celebration 2019 event in Ottawa, Ontario, Chera Harris of Kelowna, British Columbia, was named the Canada grand prize winner of the 2019 IsaBody Challenge® and received CA$10,000. The IsaBody Challenge and the annual Canada Celebration event are both hosted by Isagenix International, a global health and wellness company providing nutrition and lifestyle solutions.

Chera, age 43, was one of 12 IsaBody™ Finalists chosen from thousands of Canada participants during the most recent Challenge Judging Period. The single mom's personal transformation story, which includes losing 95 pounds* during the four Challenges she completed as part of this competition, was the top choice by a panel of Isagenix judges.

"I started this journey just hoping to lose a few pounds because I felt trapped in my own body," Chera said as she shared her story onstage with event attendees. "But this has become so much more. Now I have a whole new inspired life, closeness with my son, freedom from debt, belief in myself, and a community of friends that inspires and lifts me."

She added, "It is so difficult to eat every day in a way that nourishes, but Isagenix provides meals and solutions that translate beyond convenient nutrition and have empowered me to become my best self!"

As the 2019 IsaBody Challenge Grand Prize Winner, Chera received a CA$10,000 prize as well as an all-expenses-paid vacation to Costa Rica in honor of her IsaBody Challenge achievements.

At the same Canada Celebration event, 11 additional finalists were recognized and received CA$3,000 each and a trip to the IsaBody Escape in Costa Rica. They include Drake Siesling of Barrie, Ontario; Francois Newbury of Cantley, Quebec; Jacques Robert of Calgary, Alberta; Jesse Gabrielle of Regina, Saskatchewan; Kary Odiatu of Unionville, Ontario; Katrina Simons of Kamloops, British Columbia; Martin Bolduc of North Vancouver, British Columbia; Mert Karakilic of Coquitlam, British Columbia; Stacey Boivin of Calgary, Alberta; Teresa Peters of Edmonton, Alberta; and Kim Bell of Calgary, Alberta.

"Chera truly is an inspiration to our entire team," said Travis Ogden, Isagenix chief executive officer. "We're humbled to have such a warrior, someone who has overcome tremendous personal and physical challenges representing Isagenix as the 2019 IsaBody Challenge Canada Grand Prize Winner. Chera's tenacity to transform her life as well as the lives of everyone she meets helped make her a great choice amongst a field of 12 superb finalists. Isagenix is proud that our exceptional nutrition solutions played a role in Chera's incredible transformation."

Results vary with individual effort, body composition, eating patterns, time, exercise, and other factors, such as genetic and physiological makeup. A two-phase 2016 study published by researchers at Skidmore College showed an average weight loss of 24 pounds after 12 weeks. The study evaluated the use of Isagenix products in men and women for weight loss followed by weight maintenance. During the weight maintenance phase, the subjects who continued the calorie-controlled program using Isagenix products better maintained their weight loss in comparison to those who transitioned to a traditional diet after 52 weeks.
