SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif.,
Dec. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- EPC
Power Corp. (EPC), an innovator in energy storage power conversion
technologies, provides the power conversion technology for use
within the latest generation of the Lockheed Martin GridStar®
storage system. Lockheed Martin's GridStar® is a high-quality,
compact, turnkey energy storage system with the ability to shift
load demand in time, improve grid stability, provide backup power
and more. GridStar® is fully factory commissioned, easy to install
and boasts a footprint equivalent to a typical vehicle parking
space. Lockheed Martin recently deployed its newest generation of
GridStar®, available in a range of power and energy levels up to
500 kW and 1350 kWhr.
Today, GridStar® energy storage systems are in use across
Canada and the United
States. Lockheed Martin relies on EPC's conversion technology
to maximize their performance under a wide range of grid
conditions. The first-generation GridStar® system utilized
EPC's 375 kW inverter. Building on the success of those systems,
the latest GridStar® system incorporates a choice of EPC's 500 kW
or 250 kW inverters, enabling GridStar® to meet increasing
performance demands in the field.
"We're proud to play a role in the success and share in the
excitement of GridStar®, and to have supplied Lockheed Martin with
premium power conversion since the first commercial GridStar®
systems were introduced to the market," says Allan Abela, EPC's Chief Commercial Officer.
"The ongoing GridStar® partnership is a vote of confidence
from Lockheed Martin, and it will help bring the benefits of EPC's
conversion technology to more users globally."
Lockheed Martin Energy's GridStar® product portfolio includes
GridStar® Lithium for short and medium duration applications and
GridStar® Flow for longer duration applications.
Earlier this year, Lockheed Martin recognized 19 suppliers,
including EPC, that made exemplary contributions to its business
area's products and services in 2017. Lockheed Martin works with
nearly 9,000 businesses.
