French state-controlled utility Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR) is maintaining its schedule for the construction of the EPR-type reactor at Flamanville, a company spokeswoman said Tuesday, following reports the building site is running behind schedule.

EDF still aims to start up the Areva SA (CEI.FR)-designed EPR it is building in northern France before the end of 2012 and to sell power commercially by 2013, the spokeswoman said.

Earlier Tuesday, French daily Le Figaro reported that EDF is running behind schedule on the construction works of the nuclear reactor it is building at Flamanville.
