Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives, Inc. said Monday it
began construction of a 25MW project in the U.S. state of
Georgia.
The company said its IEA Constructors LLC subsidiary will act as
the Engineer-Procure-Construct Contractor on the Appling Solar Farm
for Silicon Ranch Corp.
IEA will hire about 200 workers for the site, recruiting most
from the local labor pool and from military veterans. Due to the
Covid-19 pandemic, the company won't host a job fair, but instead
is asking potential workers to apply online or via email.
"IEA is responsible for the design, procurement, construction,
commissioning and handover of the facility," the company said,
adding "Silicon Ranch is funding the installation and will own and
operate the array."
Silicon Ranch is the U.S. solar platform for Shell.
