HSBC Holdings PLC (HSBA.LN) said Monday that it has appointed Pam Kaur as group chief risk officer effective Jan. 1 and John Hinshaw as group chief operating officer-designate effective Dec. 10.

Andy Maguire will retire as group chief operating officer effective Jan. 30, part of a number of changes the senior management team aimed at positioning the group for the next phase of its strategy.

The company said that Mr. Kaur replaces Marc Moses who will be stepping down on Dec. 31, but will continue to provide support until he formally retires on Dec. 9.

Mr. Maguire will leave the group at the end of his six-month notice period on June 9, and will be replaced by Mr. Hinshaw.

Additionally, Samir Assaf will take on a new role as chairman of corporate and institutional banking. He will be stepping down as CEO of global banking and markets effective March 1.
