My Green Lab on Tuesday said it would be working with AstraZeneca PLC (AZN) to help the pharmaceutical company implement a green labs program across its sites worldwide.

My Green Lab said it will work to certify AstraZeneca R&D labs in Cambridge, Gothenburg, Sweden, Boston, South San Francisco and other locations to the My Green Lab global standard for laboratory sustainability.

Penny James, chief operating officer, BioPharmaceuticals R&D at AstraZeneca, said "Working with My Green Lab has provided us with a framework and expertise to continuously improve the environmental sustainability of our labs. Our global approach allows us to set standard goals as well as share local good practices across sites so that we can accelerate improvements to our environmental impact."

Non-profit My Green Lab said it is dedicated to building a culture of sustainability through science.
