Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (RB.LN) said Wednesday that Chief Executive Rakesh Kapoor plans to retire by the end of this year, after more than eight years in the role and 32 years with the company.

The consumer company, which houses Durex condoms, Harpic cleaner and Scholl brands among its portfolio, said it has started a formal search for Mr. Kapoor's replacement and will consider both internal and external candidates.
