Deutsche Post AG's fourth-quarter net profit rose but the
company said that the coronavirus epidemic may significantly affect
some divisions and the 2020 outlook excludes potential effects of
the virus.
Net profit for the period rose 5.5% to 858 million euros ($980.1
million), the German freight-and-logistics group said Tuesday.
Revenue rose 0.2% to EUR16.96 billion.
The company proposed a dividend of EUR1.25 a share from the
EUR1.15 it paid for the previous year.
Looking ahead, the company said the guidance for this year
excludes the possible effects of coronavirus on the business.
"We will not remain entirely unaffected by this world-wide
crisis. However, it is currently much too early to judge its
financial impact," Chief Executive Frank Appel said.
The outlook for 2022 remains unchanged.
