Allianz SE (ALV.XE) has invested in Chinese insurer Taikang Life Insurance, a spokeswoman for the German insurer said Wednesday.

The spokeswoman didn't say what the value of the investment was, but an earlier report by Bloomberg said Allianz has paid $1 billion for a stake in the company.
