Altaire Pharma Voluntarily Recalls Several Products Sold at Walgreens, Walmart -- Update

Altaire Pharmaceuticals Inc. said Wednesday it is voluntarily
recalling several over-the-counter products made and labeled
exclusively for Walgreens and for Walmart Inc. (WMT).
The items made for Walgreen that are being recalled being
recalled are certain lots of Lubricant Eye Drops Moisturizing Twin
Pack; Sodium Chloride Ophthalmic Ointment, 5% Hypertonicity Eye
Ointment; Sodium Chloride Ophthalmic Solution, 5% Hypertonicity Eye
Drops; and Lubricant Eye Ointment PF Soothing.
Products made for Walmart that are being recalled include
certain lots of Equate Restore Tears Lubricant Eye Drops Twin Pack;
Equate Eye Allergy Relief Drops; Equate Sterile Lubricant Stye
Ointment; and Equate Restore PM Nighttime Lubricant Eye
Ointment.
Altaire said the recall was initiated "due to management
concerns regarding the sufficiency of quality assurance controls
over critical systems in the manufacturing facility."
Altaire said it notified Walgreens of the recall on July 3 and
has requested that Walgreens notify its customers.
The recall comes a day after Altaire voluntarily recalled
multiple ophthalmic products manufactured and labeled exclusively
for Perrigo Co. PLC.
