United Technologies Corp. (UTX) has named Christopher Callo as its next president of aerospace division Pratt & Whitney, succeeding Bob Leduc, who plans to retire in early 2020.

"Chris and Bob will work closely together over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition for both our customers and employees," United Technologies Chief Executive Greg Hayes said.

Mr. Callo has been the president of United Technologies's commercial engines business since 2017. He joined the company in 2005, holding various positions, including the chief of staff for Mr. Hayes.

Pratt & Whitney makes engines that are used in civil and military aircraft.
