--Uber Technologies Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi told employees on Sunday that the company will slash spending and become a leaner business, CNBC reports, citing an email sent to employees.

--The cuts will be to marketing and incentives, Mr. Khosrowshahi said, adding, "We will treat hiring as a privilege and be deliberate about when and where we add headcount," according to CNBC.
