CNN anchor Chris Cuomo said he has tested positive for COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus, but will continue to host his show, "Cuomo Prime Time," from home.

Mr. Cuomo announced his diagnosis on Twitter Tuesday, adding that he came down with fever, chills and shortness of breath after being exposed to people who had the virus.

"I am quarantined in my basement (which actually makes the rest of the family seem pleased!)" Mr. Cuomo wrote. "I will do my shows from here. We will all beat this by being smart and tough and united!"

A CNN spokeswoman declined to comment beyond Mr. Cuomo's statement.

Mr. Cuomo, who anchors CNN's 9 p.m. hour, has lately fed viewers a steady diet of coronavirus news, served up with a side of levity, through banter-filled interviews with his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
