October 22 2019 - 08:00AM
Business Wire
Schwab Advisor Services™ today announced keynote speakers and
new features coming to IMPACT® 2019, the largest and
longest-running annual gathering of independent advisors in the
nation. More than 2,200 independent advisors from across the
country, along with hundreds of industry professionals, will gather
at the San Diego Convention Center from November 4-7.
Keynote speakers will include former U.S. Under Secretary of
State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns; country music star Tim
McGraw and presidential historian and author Jon Meacham; New
Yorker staff photographer Platon; Future Today Institute founder
Amy Webb; and Horizon Investments political strategist Greg
Valliere. Advisors will also hear from Schwab’s Executive Vice
President and Head of Advisor Services Bernie Clark, Charles Schwab
President and CEO Walt Bettinger, and special guest Charles Schwab
Corporation founder and chairman Charles (“Chuck”) Schwab; Schwab’s
Chief Investment Strategist Liz Ann Sonders; and Schwab’s Global
Chief Investment Strategist Jeffrey Kleintop.
The conference represents the vast and growing ecosystem that
has developed over the past three decades to support independent
advisors and the investors they serve. IMPACT’s exhibition hall,
The Exchange, features more than 350 integration providers,
investment management innovators, and independent record-keepers.
Advisors attend IMPACT to learn the latest news and information in
the independent advice space and to hear from experts on timely
investing and practice management topics.
Spotlight on M&A, succession planning, and
technology
This year, Schwab will host the first-ever Succession &
Mergers community on the floor of The Exchange, which will bring
together eight firms that are focused on helping advisors address
succession, growth, or mergers. The community will enable advisors
to learn more about succession planning and potential M&A
opportunities for their firms.
Also new at IMPACT 2019 is Schwab’s digital adoption booth,
where advisors can take a five-minute survey to receive immediate
takeaways about their firm’s technology infrastructure and book an
in-depth consultation with a Schwab technology expert.
“We are excited to share timely content and insights with
advisors at IMPACT this year,” said Jon Beatty, chief operating
officer, Schwab Advisor Services. “Technology, M&A, and
succession are incredibly significant and disruptive themes for the
independent space – ones that we are dedicated to tackling head-on
to help independent advisors maintain their competitive advantage
in the financial services industry at large.”
