NatWest Group--previously named Royal Bank of Scotland Group--said Friday that it has appointed Jen Tippin as chief transformation officer, a new role within the bank with the start date yet to be decided.

The Scottish bank said the appointment of Ms. Tippin--who joins from Lloyds Banking Group PLC where she has occupied several executive roles--is subject to regulatory approval.

Ms. Tippin will take up the position later this year and will also be a member of the bank's executive committee, the London-listed lender added.

"Jen brings a wealth of experience in leading the kind of customer journey transformation that will be central to the successful delivery of our purpose-led strategy as we create a better experience for our customers, with strong controls, at lower cost," Chief Executive Alison Rose said.

Shares at 1331 GMT were down 1.05 pence, or 1.0%, at 105.40 pence.
