RATE Take 891 YEARS For Rate to Earn What investors are currently paying for the Stock Lets do Some very simple math current market cpa is 1.07 Billion Dollars Current GAAP Earnings are ONLY 300,000$ Per Quarter (Pretty Terrible Considering that the Economy is spose to be doing good right now) anyways take the 1.07 Billion \ 300,000$ = 3,5666 Quaters so it would take RATE Three Thousand Five Hundread and Sixty Sixy Quaters at its current earnings to Earn what investors are paying for the stock today since their is 4 Qtrs in a year 3,566\4=891 YEARS so it would take RATE Nearly 1000 Years to Earn what current investors are paying for the stock today talk about a Bubble now this is beyond insanity this is Down right CRAZY Strong Sell

Bought at 4.40, sold on Friday at 6.85. Thought I played the top just right, but I missed it by a little...

Quite a move last week. Is there room for more? Maybe I should throw a few dollars at this one?

It will be interesting to see what happens here if rates start to creep back up.

Internet stocks are starting to get hot again...

Matt, wrong sector. The company is ASTM. A small biotech that is into adult stem cells. They are close to being delisted from the NAS. They did have a nice pop earlier this week when they saved a small child's life.

I checked the 10K. They have $44 mil in operating losses that can be used to offset future taxable income. They expire between 2012 & 2021. They are subject to annual restrictions however because of change of ownership the limits of which did not appear to be spelled out. It's in the 10K under "Income Taxes".

Yeah, that's what I figured. I didn't see a table in their recent filing, but I was 90% sure you couldn't use it up whenever and it had to be on some sort of schedule.

That company B&B is talking about would make for a great reverse merger of a profitable company, if the company is in same sector and it can be applied....

I read that to say that the company has a deficit ie accumulated losses. They showed net earnings of $1.325 mil and paid no taxes cause of accumulated tax losses. Somewhere there should be a note ie in the last annual report of what the tax loss carry forwards are & when then expire.

You're correct. The prior periods losses can offset future earnings. I happen to own a POS that has $89MM worth of tax losses.

Look at these numbers. Am I correct in my understanding that if they show a loss figure under retained earnings, that it can be applied against future positive income until it runs out?

They paid no income tax on the $1.3m they earned this quarter. Is that because of the retained earnings they are showing on their balance sheet?

Trading well the last few days! No major volume (today's not bad, though), but has been moving up every day. My portfolio doesn't know what to think of this addition.

Matt....I don't know! It certainly broke all trends. Not much volume though. It was pushed up on a bunch of 100 share trades. I don't like it.

In a German newspaper,a quite famous analyst has recommended RATE and also TREE as a "strong buy".Concerning me I like the chart of TREE much more.

Sure, $4.40. Bought last week, I think (or maybe week before) when I thought Fed was going to cut the rates by another 50 basis points. Figured it'd spur a little RATE action. I, again, goofed. hehe

I figure anywhere within $4-5 range is a decent range for me.

I overpaid because I wasn't aware of just how volatile the stock is. The spread can be .40 at a time.

Care to share a purchase price?

I bought just enough for a taste and to give me a reason to watch trading patterns. it's very volatile on absolutely no volume at all. After watching it, I'll figure a good spot to buy some more.

Matt...Another thing. I notice heavy volume as the stock peaked and then again as it started dropping. I would watch that to see if you can get an idea if it is profit taking, or possibly mutual funds jumping on board.
Looking at a point and figure chart of it, I would expect it to consolidate a bit for a while before moving again. Remind me to check again in a couple weeks.

Matt....Interesting stock, technically it has a nice base. The support line is at $3 currently, and I'd prefer to see if it bounces off of it or falls below first. The earnings look nice, however I am somewhat concerned about the previous shareholders lawsuit against the company. Did this company do a name change and start over again? I do like internet stocks right now and just bought back into an internet mutual fund, but you do have to be cautious.

Yeah, take a look at their numbers, let me know what you think.

Also like the share structure, the profit margins, and ROE. One sweet little operation. It just need some attention.

I bought some shares of this. Great little company. Profitable, focused.

Should get some attention in the coming months if it'll cross that $5 barrier.
