Oracle Corp. said Zoom Video Communications Inc. selected the company as a cloud infrastructure provider for its core online meeting service.

"We recently experienced the most significant growth our business has ever seen, requiring massive increases in our service capacity," Zoom Video Chief Executive Eric S. Yuan said.

Oracle said that to meet rapidly increasing demand for its services, including a sudden increase to 300 million daily meeting participants, Zoom Video needed additional cloud capacity immediately. Oracle said Zoom Video is already transferring upwards of seven petabytes through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure servers each day, roughly equivalent to 93 years of high-definition video.

Oracle shares were up 1.2% premarket to $54 and Zoom Video was up 0.9% to $166.
