France's Orange said Wednesday that it is launching digital financial services in Ivory Coast with its African banking partner NSIA.

Under the name Orange Bank Africa, they will offer savings and credit services available via mobile phone, the telecommunications group said. Orange plans to later expand its operations to Senegal, Mali and Burkina Faso, it said.

"When it launches, Orange Bank Africa via its Orange Money service will offer a range of savings and micro-credit services allowing customers to borrow as little as 5,000 CFA francs ($8.81) instantly using their mobile phone," it said.
