Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. (TTWO) and Nike Inc. (NKE)
have teamed up to offer players of NBA2K20 the chance to outfit
their virtual player with signature shoes, and the opportunity to
win a physical pair of those same custom sneakers.
Players of NBA2K20 who create a player using the game's MyPLAYER
feature can complete in-game challenges to win up to 10 pairs of
virtual signature shoes to be released by Nike. Players completing
those challenges also will be eligible for a chance to purchase a
real-life version of the virtual footwear.
"NBA 2K20 players will need to link their 2K account with a Nike
account and download the Nike SNKRS App, as the shoes won't be
available for direct purchase from Nike without completing specific
in-game challenges," the companies said.
Eric Wood, Nike's VP of Digital Partnerships, said, "By now
giving NBA 2K gamers the opportunity to connect their membership
platforms we are unlocking a new way for those who live the game
virtually, and physically, to earn access to a very cool range of
exclusive Nike products."
