Item 8.01 Other Events

On April 6, 2020, NextEra Energy Capital Holdings, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc. (NEE), sold $1.25 billion principal amount of its 2.75% Debentures, Series due May 1, 2025, which are guaranteed by NEE. These Debentures were registered under the Securities Act of 1933 pursuant to Registration Statement Nos. 333-226056, 333-226056-01 and 333-226056-02. This Current Report on Form 8-K is being filed to report as exhibits certain documents in connection with the sale of the Debentures.
