Moody's Corp. said it would accelerate the time it will give
itself to reach its net-zero emissions targets by 10 years.
The company now plans to reach net-zero emissions across its
operations and supply chain by 2040.
"Given the urgency of the need to adapt, we are accelerating
Moody's net-zero target, and continue to embed climate risk and
sustainability into everything we do," president and CEO Rob Fauber
said.
The company's goals include reducing its Scope 1 and Scope 2
emissions within its operations by 50% by 2030, cutting its Scope 3
emissions by 15% from such endeavors as business travel and
commuting by 2025 and requiring that 60% of its suppliers have
science-based targets by 2025.
