McDonald's Corp. on Thursday said Jerome Krulewitch has retired as corporate executive vice president, general counsel and secretary due to health reasons.

The Chicago-based fast-food giant said Mr. Krulewitch, who has been corporate general counsel and secretary since 2017, has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

McDonald's said Mahrukh Hussain, its U.S. general counsel, will serve as interim general counsel and secretary while the company conducts a search for a successor.

Mr. Krulewitch joined McDonald's in 2002 as vice president of litigation.
