Southwest Airlines Co. on Thursday said it will be adding new flights and routes later this year and also said it plans to resume service to certain international destinations on July 1.

Southwest will add three daily nonstop flights between Long Beach and Phoenix and a daily nonstop flight between Long Beach and Austin on Nov. 1.

Other new routes include flights between Phoenix and Memphis and flights from Denver to Birmingham, to Wichita and to Little Rock.

The airline also will offer three roundtrip flights between Atlanta and Oklahoma City, which reestablishes nonstop service previously offered in 2016, as well as a daily flight between Atlanta and Omaha, Neb.

Those new routes will begin service on Dec. 17, the company said.

The company also said it "continues to monitor conditions in 14 international destinations on the carrier's network map and update operational plans." Southwest said it plans to "resume service to Mexico and the Caribbean via Cancun, San Jose del Cabo/Los Cabos, Havana, Montego Bay, and Nassau on July 1, 2020, subject to change."

Southwest said it will resume service to its other international destinations as government restrictions are eased.
