Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control was awarded a $988.8 million modification to a previously-awarded contract to work on the U.S. Air Force's hypersonic Air-Launched Rapid Response Weapon, the Pentagon said Monday.

Under the terms of the contract, the company will review and test the weapon, as well as provide production readiness support, the Pentagon said.

Work will be conducted in Orlando, Florida, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2022, the Pentagon said.

Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT) is the parent of Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control.
