JPMorgan Chase & Co. has appointed Francesco Lavatelli to head its equity capital markets for Asia Pacific.

Mr. Lavatelli, who has been with the firm since 2002, until recently was heading the debt-capital-markets division in Asia-ex Japan, an internal memo seen by The Wall Street Journal showed Wednesday.

The memo showed that Bhasker Iyer will lead the investment bank's debt-capital-markets business in Asia ex-Japan.

A JPMorgan spokesperson confirmed the appointments.
