Attendees will also experience a live demonstration in the emissions testing lab, showcasing the system's versatile fuel adaptability and its commitment to low-emission performance.

Attendance at the showcase event is by invitation only and will feature elected officials, customers, strategic partners, investors, media representatives, and other key stakeholders.

In addition to the Ohio facility, Hyliion also maintains its headquarters in Austin, Texas. Spanning 120,000 square feet, this facility is earmarked to become the company's manufacturing hub by late 2024. This strategic expansion highlights Hyliion's commitment to innovation and its ambition to enhance production capabilities, positioning it for continued success in the industry.

Dunno, but getting ahead of yourself might mean being wrong too often. People lose faith if you cry "gold!" too often.
I'd rather now he get it right.
Although, knowing what I do about blue chip stocks and their inability to shift quickly due to red tape, I have to believe HYLN should get there first. I'd be more concerned with other start ups.

FD, overall very positive call. The only reservation I have, is this gut feeling, that the company still sounds more like an R&D company vs. a commercial one. It seems to me that they are moving too slowly, perhaps too cautiously to commercializing the KARNO generator. If it's as good as they say it is, why aren't they commercializing it faster. The demand for the product I'm sure is high, considering the government subsidies, the environment benefits, the higher efficiencies and lower operational costs, the lower maintenance costs, the low noise, etc., etc. Why are they moving so slowly to commercialize it? Why did GE gave this technology away?

WeTheMarket WeTheMarket 2 months ago
FD, agree. Thank you for the feedback, and technical insights into the share price and chart analysis. I think we can safely say goodbye to sub $1 share prices, and does worrying about non-compliance with NYSE, and threat of a Reverse Split. Should regain compliance by end of February, and receive a notice of compliance shortly thereafter, providing further support/boost to share price.

I've got to say. Rarely have I seen a CEO recognize their mistake and correct so quickly. Maybe I was right about Thomas afterall. It's pretty rare for my spidey senses to mislead me.

Executive Commentary

“I’m pleased to report that the company’s strategic shift to wind down powertrain operations and focus on our KARNO generator is on track, with significant achievements made in advancing our generator technology and engaging prospective customers during the quarter,” said Hyliion’s Founder and CEO, Thomas Healy. “We expect to deliver the initial KARNO generator deployment units with customers late in 2024 followed by a ramp-up in production and additional deliveries in 2025.”

Well, that was quick. Although so far, it has broken through, but then pulled back below $1.27.
A move above $1.50 would be a huge indicator that I would be shocked to see.
Would have been a great swing trade when it was .62

Executive Commentary

“I’m pleased to report that the company’s strategic shift to wind down powertrain operations and focus on our KARNO generator is on track, with significant achievements made in advancing our generator technology and engaging prospective customers during the quarter,” said Hyliion’s Founder and CEO, Thomas Healy. “We expect to deliver the initial KARNO generator deployment units with customers late in 2024 followed by a ramp-up in production and additional deliveries in 2025.”

KARNO Commercial Updates

Today, the company announced that, under the Inflation Reduction Act, the KARNO generator is expected to be characterized the same as a fuel cell, enabling customers to qualify for up to a 40% tax credit under the current ITC.

Hyliion is addressing the commercial power market first with a locally-deployable 200kW generating system which it intends to deliver to initial deployment customers in late 2024. To lead these efforts, Hyliion recently hired former Cummins powergen executive, Govi Ramasamy, as Chief Commercial Officer.

Hyliion also announced today that Detmar Logistics has executed a non-binding letter of intent for a KARNO generator and to be part of Hyliion’s early adopter program. Detmar, who supplied Hyliion with test gas from the Permian Basin, intends to operate their unit on waste flare gas to produce electricity at oil & gas sites, without the need for pre-treating the gas.

In addition to Detmar, Hyliion also announced a non-binding letter of intent with GTL Leasing to deliver two KARNO generators for their portable electric vehicle recharging business. Other customers’ letters of intent are in place or being finalized to represent the remaining planned deployments in 2024 and initial deliveries in 2025. Hyliion plans for initial deployments to represent a broad range of applications, including vehicle charging, waste gas fuel sourcing, and prime power generation.

KARNO Generator Development

Hyliion is developing a revolutionary new electrical generator powered by a linear heat motor that is expected to deliver step-change improvements in performance characteristics compared to conventional generating systems, including efficiency, emissions, maintenance requirements, noise levels and fuel flexibility. The KARNO generator is enabled by the latest advances in additive manufacturing technology. Hyliion hosted a Technology Fireside Chat in December 2023 during which Thomas Healy and Josh Mook, Chief Technology Officer, explained the capabilities and advantages of the generator.

Recent technological advancements include beginning to print production-intent design parts of the BETA design of the KARNO generator. The BETA generator design will go through validation throughout 2024 and then is expected to be ready for customer deployments later this year.

The company also tested unprocessed flare gas that was collected from the Permian Basin and confirmed the ability for the KARNO reactor to operate on this fuel, showcasing the fuel agnostic characteristics of the generator. Recent test results on this fuel highlight that the KARNO’s flameless oxidation process is expected to surpass current EPA Tier 4 emissions standards by 98% for CO and 76% for NOx with no additional aftertreatment or catalyst needed.

Powertrain Wind-Down

In November 2023, Hyliion announced that it was winding down its powertrain business segment to maintain the company’s strong cash position as it furthers development of the KARNO generator technology. The company intends to retain the powertrain technology, enabling it to explore future use or sale of the technology and tangible assets. Most wind-down activities are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024 while efforts to monetize powertrain assets and technology continue.

Financial Highlights and Guidance

Fourth quarter operating expenses totaled $32.6 million, compared to $31.6 million in the prior-year quarter as the company initiated powertrain wind-down actions. Fourth quarter expenses include $11.5 million of charges directly related to the wind-down, including employee severance, contract cancellation costs, and accelerated depreciation of assets.

Full-year expenses totaled $136.3 million, compared to $152.4 million for the full year in 2022. Expenses in 2022 include $28.8 million of one-time charges associated with the purchase of KARNO generator technology from GE. Cash expenditures for 2023 were $131 million, including net losses and capital investments. The company ended the year with $291 million in unrestricted cash, and short-term and long-term investments.

For 2024, total cash consumed by the KARNO generator business is expected to be between $40 and $50 million, down compared to $131 million in capital consumed by the company in 2023. This estimate excludes cash payments associated with the stock repurchase program, payments associated with the ongoing wind-down of powertrain operations, and cash generated from the sale of powertrain assets and technology. Hyliion expects to achieve commercialization of the KARNO generator with the capital on hand.

Projections for 2025 include growth of KARNO generator deliveries with proceeds from sales in the low double-digit millions of dollars. The company also projects gross margins to be approximately break-even or slightly negative and cash spending to grow modestly compared to 2024.

$HYLN - Bro, you're making Clown posts.
And please use spell-check or something.
Come to think of it, keep going with the bad grammar and bad spelling it makes you look stupid....and I don't care because you're now on IGGY.

The tech is over my head. I'd just like to see them get focused on one product that is soon to be in demand.
Sorry, I'm more about the technical analysis and leave most of the fundamentals to someone in the field.
When Thomas explained it to me, it made some sense for the future.

That may possibly be the dumbest post I've ever read.
So, you're claiming, after making a totally idiotic post, that you were using reverse psychology to convince the 3 people who post here AND already own shares, to keep their shares? What exactly are you even claiming you got us to do?
Are you like a new millennial stock pumper? You said you were shorting, then when the stock goes up you claim you were long all along. Genius!
Here's to hoping your alias gets booted before reaching 10 posts.

You owe me for the 60 seconds of my life I spent giving you the attention you need.
Every time I think I've seen the absolute dumbest thing possible, someone comes along and tops it.

looking at the Hyliion video about KARNO it was shown on a class 8 truck doing sound comparison to a diesel generator so I don't think hey are abandoning trucks, just may lead with generators if they have existing distribution channel and a demand - . my concern with generators is that they are typically ihn the field for week and months so will need a mobile refueling strategy compared to truck that can have depot based refueling.
only PLUG has an establish hydrogen refueling for small systems strategy with their GenSure systems at cell towers and railway lines.

For trucks in the right market you can have your base tanks and refueling and then top. off at the public stations that exist in and around California ports and being built in other strategic areas (Canada for instance)

So on the other hand KARNO can run of Natural gas so can be established using that fuel in stationary applications like data-centers as your subsequent post suggests. It is a shame PEM fuel cells are ted to use hydrogen. The hydrogen producers ned to step up production (of any color but preferable green, white or blue) so availability doesn't hider usage.

Projected power demand growth is doubling in 5 years, driven by data centers, manufacturing, hydrogen plants, and EV charging. #KARNO tech is vital to ease strain on the grid with low emissions & flexible fuel use. https://t.co/4dO3o1HzlK— Thomas Healy (@realThomasHealy) January 30, 2024

FD, what puzzles me about Hyliion is that they had recently announced a partnership with Hyzon to commercialize hydrogen FCEV trucks, and shortly thereafter, announced a complete change in strategy focusing on the KARNO generator for stationary power. In the meantime Hyzon is focusing on commercializing a 200 kW fuel cell for hydrogen FCEV trucks, and is working on a higher power 300 kW fuel cell to launch a stationary power application sometime in the future. There are currently huge incentives in California (over $300,000 per truck I believe when combined with other incentives) to make hydrogen FCEV competitive with diesel trucks, which go away in 2025 for large fleets. It would seem to me that Hyzon's strategy to focus on the trucks first makes more sense. Thoughts?

Glad to help, Its called reversed phycology.
Get tired of people complaining about this stock.
So as to not be accused of pumping. You gently and antagonize
just enough of this board in Hyliion to get a knee jerk reaction from you so called investors, full of knowledge haha. And you opined and the stock went up. And I made money.
The funny thing about sheep, they will go where you want them to, just have to entice them, make them think they are smart, trick is try and find the narcissistic ones.
Shorting the stock? Actually thought that huh?
Well don't worry, I made my cash no need to return to this stock again. Its might hit 5.00 by years end if those prints get going with Karno. But not here to bag hold just take my money and leave now.

Resistance currently $1.29.. Maybe by your 10th post you'll understand more.

Well, didn't quite make $1.29, but got to $1.24. Now it should be pulling back to around .90 or a tad lower, and the question is....will it hold the support line?
It needs to, or this falls back to oblivion.
I guess I'll just hold. Certainly wouldn't add more until I saw that bounce from support, then I might even add.
Chart doesn't thrill me, but it is what it is.

P.S. where did that acer dude go to?? Just waiting for a breakdown to say I told you so??? Very odd.

January 24 2024
https://ih.advfn.com/stock-market/NYSE/hyliion-HYLN/stock-news/93126510/hyliion-begins-printing-production-intent-design-c

Hyliion Holdings Corp. (NYSE: HYLN), a developer of sustainable electricity-producing technology, today announced that it has begun printing parts for its production-intent design of the KARNO generator (BETA).

This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20240124934250/en/

The KARNO generator leverages additive manufacturing for production of many of its components including all critical heat exchangers and thermodynamics systems. This innovative manufacturing process not only enhances the precision and quality of these components but also contributes to the overall improved efficiency of the generator.

“We are thrilled to begin printing the production-intent design of the KARNO generator which showcases another major step on our path to deploying this technology with customers,” said Thomas Healy, Founder and CEO of Hyliion. “The initial 200 kW BETA units will operate at our Cincinnati, Ohio, development facility in order to confirm the superior efficiency levels, ultra-low emissions, and long runtime between maintenance.”

This significant achievement highlights that Hyliion has completed designs of the major components of the BETA version of the KARNO generator, and it is now ready for final validation. Throughout 2024, Hyliion will be completing testing and verification of the BETA generator to prepare for initial deployments to early adopters of the technology later this year. Hyliion will continue to improve the system design and leverage the flexible capabilities of additive manufacturing. Hyliion is well-positioned to meet the milestones previously outlined for the completion of BETA development by the first half of 2024.

Hello team Hyliion here is a review of the fireside tech chat 😃

I'm reviewing the YouTube hyliion Karno tech chat, please watch yourselves to learn more..

key points...

As stated by TH (CEO) most exciting initial use cases are prime power, ev charging, and waste gases. Landfills, flared gas from oil and gas production, hospitals, hotels, and EV charging seem to be most likely examples to adapt initially. And remember the karno is expected to be lower cost overall and there are new taxes being proposed in the USA on flared gases or methane emissions (thank you Joe).

karno parts now taking three days to 3D print are expected to take hours to print in the near future (2-3 years maybe) but continued improvement is expected.

karno as reported in the video is double the efficiency of new diesel generators as stated by the CTO of hyliion the karno is 50% efficient...a combined cycle gas plant (extremely or most efficient) is close to 60% efficient. The karno is expected to be as efficient as all known fuel cells!!! For example using a diesel powered karno you would run twice as long on the same size fuel tank compared to a diesel generator!! Karno will meet off-road EPA tier four requirements for diesel use.

karno does work with any heat input nuclear, solar heat exchanger and others will operate karno. Karno is completely fuel agnostic by software. No changes of parts or adjustments to use diesel, natural gas, hydrogen, ammonia, raw permian gas or any other hydrocarbon!

An upwards of 95% efficiency is created using karno for electricity and heat using a heat exchanger as stated by the CTO. Creating an almost "no brainier" use case. Karno will also achieve and surpass military specifications!

the karno is quiet as shown the diesel generator was similar in decibels to a loud lawnmower and the karno was similar to a quiet blender. The karno also has a very small footprint. About two feet wide eight feet long and six feet high for the entire 200kw system.

The design team is already well underway in designing and developing the linear motor or middle section of the karno. Libertines motor is currently being used however the goal is by the end of this year the karno is completely hyliion tech. Again the linear generator will be completely in-house late this year!!!

karno will self monitor and alert the user if a system error occurs. The karno is expected to operate maintenance free for 20,000 hours (2.21 years), then need a single part exchanged.

Hyliion is expecting initiating low volume production of a 100% completely hyliion Karno to be deployed by paying customers late this year! As described the heater, reactor, and chiller will all be hyliion tech!!!

because of the initial low volume production demand for the karnos produced is greatly exceeding supply!
