End of Volt Leads to Some Job Cuts at GM -Reuters

--General Motors Co. (GM) announced Tuesday it was cutting jobs
related to the production of its plug-in hybrid Chevrolet Volt,
which will cease production, Reuters reports.
--GM said 50 workers at a battery plant in suburban Detroit and
700 workers at the company's Detroit-Hamtramck plant, where the
Volt and other mothballed models are made, will be laid off, the
report said.
--Last month, the Detroit auto maker announced it would end
production at five plants in Michigan, Ohio, Maryland and
Canada.
