Corning Expands AT&T Collaboration, Plans to Invest $150 Million in North Carolina Manufacturing

Corning Inc. is expanding its collaboration with AT&T Inc.
to increase fiber network capacity to meet high demand and
accelerate 5G deployment.
Corning said it is investing $150 million in optical cable
manufacturing in North Carolina, initially adding 200 jobs in
Hickory, N.C.
Last week, AT&T said it "continues to deploy fiber across
its wired footprint and remains confident in its ability to reach
about 2.5 million incremental customer locations passed by the end
of 2021."
