--General Electric Co. (GE) has reached a $49 million settlement related to its relationship with Thomas Petters, Reuters reported Tuesday.

--Two Florida investment funds had accused GE Capital of conspiring to commit fraud by keeping quiet in 2000 when its employees allegedly discovered that Mr. Petters was operating a Ponzi scheme.

--GE denied liability in agreeing to settle, Reuters reported.
