Electric utilities from
California, Oregon and Washington will host a media briefing to
announce the results of a study providing a road map for electric
utilities to help curb harmful emissions and electrify medium- and
heavy-duty truck traffic up and down the I-5 corridor along the
West Coast from the Mexican to Canadian borders. The study comes at
a time when major investment in electric vehicle charging
infrastructure can be a catalyst to help with economic recovery
from COVID-19, while also supporting vital air quality and climate
benefits to all communities in the three states.

The West Coast Clean Transit
Corridor Initiative is a study exploring the possibility of
electric vehicle charging for freight haulers and delivery trucks
along Interstate 5 and adjoining highways. The study was
commissioned by nine electric utilities and two agencies
representing more than two dozen municipal utilities.
