Danaher Corp. Names New Chief Scientific Officer

Danaher Corp. on Monday named Jose-Carlos Gutierrez-Ramos to be
SVP and chief scientific officer for the company.
Danaher said prior to joining the company, Dr. Gutierrez-Ramos
was the head of Global Drug Discovery and a member of the executive
R&D team at AbbVie Inc. Before that, he was president and chief
executive of Repertoire Immune Medicines and Synlogic, and before
that served in R&D roles at Pfizer Inc. and GlaxoSmithKline PLC
among other companies, Danaher said.
Before moving into the private sector, Dr. Gutierrez-Ramos was a
tenure track professor at Harvard Medical School in the Department
of Genetics and an investigator at The Center for Blood Research,
Danaher said.
The company said he will be responsible "for helping define
Danaher's science and technology strategy across the organization,
including facilitating innovation and further development of
scientific and technology talent."
