Cigna Corp. said Friday that it has expanded its Medicare Advantage programs to 108 new counties, representing an 80% increase in geographic coverage since 2019.

Cigna now offers Medicare Advantage plans in 477 counties, in 26 states and the District of Columbia, the company said.

Medicare Advantage, also known as Medicare Part C, are plans that provide Medicare benefits via private insurers. The Medicare annual election period begins next month and runs through early December for plans effective Jan. 1.
