--Barclays is set to cut hundreds of jobs in its trading and UK
consumer-banking divisions, people familiar with the matter told
Bloomberg Friday
--The bank is planning to dismiss about 5% of client-facing
staff in its trading segment and some dealmakers as soon as next
week, the people said.
--"We do not comment on speculation," Barclays said in a
statement to Bloomberg. "We regularly review our operations to
ensure we meet the evolving needs of our customers and clients in
an efficient and effective way."
