Vodafone Group PLC (VOD.LN) said Thursday that it has bought spectrum in Germany's auction for 5G mobile networks for 1.88 billion euros ($2.13 billion).

The FTSE 100-listed telecommunications group said it has secured 90 megahertz in the 3.6 gigahertz band and 40 megahertz of 2100 megahertz spectrum.

Vodafone said it achieved its overall auction objective and secured additional spectrum through to 2040.
