The CLT3-4BT6 (current limited termination) is a quadruple input digital termination device designed for 24V DC automation applications. It achieves the front-end circuitry of a digital input module (I/O) in industrial automation.

Available in a four channels configuration, it offers a high-density termination by minimizing the external component count. It is housed in a TSSOP20 surface mount package to reduce the printed board size.

Made of a parallel input voltage protection, a serial input-output current limiting circuit and an opto-coupler driver, each channel circuit terminates the connection between the logic input and the associated high side sensor or switch.

The CLT3-4BT6 device is used between the sensors and the opto-coupler of an input module. The current limiting circuit, connected between the input and the output pins, is compensated all over the temperature range. Furthermore, each channel runs independently of the other. Thanks to its low tolerance, the current limitation allows the drastic reduction of the dissipation compared to a resistive input: the overall module requires less cooling capability and becomes smaller.

The output block of each termination channel controls the operation of an opto-coupler that is internally enabled by a LED. When the input current is less than 1.5mA, an integrated output circuit derivates the input current to maintain the opto-coupler off.

When the CLT input voltage VIN is higher than 5V (that corresponds to a module input voltage higher than 11V with a 1.2kW serial resistor), a minimum output current of 1.5mA secures the opto-coupler in the on state.

The CLT3-4BT6 protects the input module against transient electromagnetic interferences such as those described in the IEC61131-2 standard. The opto-coupler plays a role in the CLT3-4BT6 operation. The drop voltage of its input diode introduces a voltage offset in series with the CLT3-4BT6 channel: for a good CLT3-4BT6 operation, this drop voltage should remain below 2V.

The patience pays off.

The market wavered a bit but finally confirmed the recent bullish formation.
Though the market opened lower yestarday, the day’s activity created a white candlestick that closed above the previous close.
This is a valid confirmation criterion.
The market is now ready for a BULLISH move.

TIME TO GOOOO, YEAR TO GOOO.

Third Quarter 2006 Outlook

SST expects its third quarter revenues to be between $115 million and $130 million, assuming continuing levels of stability occur in the U.S. and international economies. Gross margin is expected to be between 22 and 26 percent, subject to the risk of changing market conditions. Research and development expenses are expected to be approximately $15 million and total operating expenses are expected to be approximately $28 million including stock option expense. Net income per share on a GAAP basis for the third quarter of 2006 is expected to be between ($0.02) and $0.04.

Than we are trading below $4 as foreseen in April.
But how deep we will go?.

IMO $3.60 is the bottom, maybe we already bottomed.

Anyway time to buy for a swing of min 20%.

pay attention to $4.20 resistance.

Below $3 high $2 during the summer than back to $4 max $5 within december 2006.

Whaiting for late 2007 for a nice uptrend . target $8-10 within 2007 biginning 2008.

Cicles of the market.

SSTI WEEKLY CHART

the MA50 is $4.69.
Which means that the last day price decrease can be read as a negative tentative to breakout. If next week will close below 4.69 the uptrend will stop and will swing back to a downtrend.

The week closed to $4.75 and the last candlestick IMO is a sort of "shooting star" pattern.

This pattern can tell us that the share price is close to the top.
It is low reliability patter so it should be confirmed by next week candlestick.

The RSI is neutral so it is another confirmation that next week will decide the sort of next trading period for SSTI.

Also the MACD indicators are in a critical position very close to cross each other.

We are in a delicate point where price can swing back.

Hoping to be wrong

SSTI - SST Announces Single-Chip Controller Targeting Portable Applications
Monday April 17, 3:05 am ET
Mobile Platform Controller Combines Keyboard Controller, Power Management Controller and 8 Mbits of LPC Firmware Flash

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SST (Silicon Storage Technology, Inc.) (Nasdaq: SSTI - News), a leader in flash memory technology, today announced the industry's first single-chip, fully integrated mobile platform controller targeting mobile devices. The SST79LF008 Mobile Platform Controller enables designers to reduce overall system cost, enhance reliability and increase security protection by integrating into a single device 8 Mbits of LPC Firmware Flash along with a mobile platform controller for human input devices. The single-chip controller also features an Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI)-compatible embedded controller for power management and system configuration controls. SST's Mobile Platform Controller builds on the company's history of providing leading-edge SuperFlash-based BIOS solutions.

"For mobile designers, board space, power consumption and reliability are critical success factors," said Michael Briner, senior vice president of SST's Application Specific Product Group. "SST leveraged its leading-edge BIOS flash and 8051 technologies in developing the Mobile Platform Controller. This device is fully compatible with the most advanced LPC specification and replaces designer's current two or three chip solutions with a single chip."

SST's Mobile Platform Controller offers higher performance than a standard 8051 microcontroller and enables significantly higher efficiency. Utilizing SST's proprietary SuperFlash technology, the Mobile Platform Controller features an 8-Mbit LPC Firmware Flash and an SST-enhanced high-performance 8051 microcontroller core with three or six-clock machine cycle and 33-MHz max operating clock frequency. An SST three-wire Alternate LPC (aLPC) interface allows for rapid factory programming of the entire flash memory with Auto Address Increment Mode (AAI).

The 8 Mbit on-chip shared SuperFlash memory in the controller provides storage for system BIOS as well as keyboard and embedded controller firmware. The 4-KByte sectors and 64-KByte blocks allow flexible erase capabilities. All standard LPC Firmware memory functions are supported in addition to advanced features such as LPC 1.1 multi-byte read/write protocols.

Enhanced Security

For increased security, the Mobile Platform Controller features a 4-KByte secure area with lock-down capability that can be unlocked in hardware only. The system software utilizes these advanced security features by selectively restricting access to different blocks of the flash memory, and protecting the flash memory from accidental or malicious code modifications. The on-chip integration of the microcontroller core and firmware flash memory enables notebook PC designers to implement cryptographic BIOS flash protection mechanisms in embedded controller firmware.

The on-chip keyboard controller modules in the Mobile Platform Controller offer a number of features for the management of human input devices. The device includes an industry standard 8042 compatible host interface, matrix keyboard scanner, and three generic PS/2 ports for internal pointing device, external keyboard and mouse.

Through the integrated SMBus, ADC, DAC, PWM and other ACPI embedded controller modules, SST's Mobile Platform Controller can manage thermal sensors, the CPU fan, platform power planes as well as battery usage and charging operation. The expanded set of configurable LPC I/O host interfaces (one 8042 style interface, two ACPI style interfaces, and one mailbox interface) eliminates synchronization problems in system driver communication with the embedded controller firmware. The device's GPIOs provide system wake-up capability, removing design limitations imposed by dedicated wake-up inputs, common with competing solutions.

The AAI fast-programming mode of the three-wire aLPC interface in the Mobile Platform Controller allows the entire flash memory to be programmed (12 seconds typical) without re-issuing subsequent addresses and with just one command. This advantage is especially useful during the manufacturing process, where fast production line throughput is essential. The innovative aLPC interface also enables field resurrection of a nonfunctioning portable device by simply flashing the BIOS.

Pricing and Availability

The SST79LF008 Mobile Platform Controller featuring 8-Mbit LPC Firmware Flash is available now in both LQFP and TFBGA 176-pin packages. Pricing for the Mobile Platform Controller is $3.50 in 10K unit quantities. For more information about SST and its family of products, visit the company's Web site at http://www.sst.com.
