--Kioxia Holdings Corp. is set to name Applied Materials Inc.'s former chief executive, Michael R. Splinter, as an independent director of Kioxia, Japanese business daily Nikkei reported Tuesday without citing sources.

--Mr. Splinter is a Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. board member and serves as chairman of Nasdaq Inc.
