Verizon Communications Inc. said it is launching a new integration with Microsoft Corp.'s Teams workplace communication tool.

The new feature, called Verizon Mobile for Microsoft Teams, will allow Verizon wireless subscribers to use their cell phone's native dialer to receive calls as a Teams endpoint. Verizon said it is the first U.S. operator to launch Microsoft's Teams Phone Mobile service.

Users will also be able to make or receive external calls using a single Verizon business-provided number, the company said.

"What we're hearing from customers is a need for the true mobilization of unified communications and collaboration to support their hybrid work environments," said Verizon Business Chief Executive Sampath Sowmyanarayan. "This is yet another example of how we're helping customers to adapt and succeed."
