Microsoft OKs Buyback Up to $40 Billion, Boosts Dividend -- Update

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) has authorized a stock buyback of up to
$40 billion. The repurchase program has no expiration date.
The company said in 2016 that it would buy up to $40 million of
stock.
Microsoft also said Wednesday that it increased its dividend to
51 cents from 46 cents, continuing a pattern of September
increases. Last year, the quarterly payout was raised from 42
cents.
Shares recently were up 1% after hours to $140.25.
