Gold mining stock presentation from years ago

I forgot where, but there was industry analyst that made a presentation around 2012 or so, I think; and he showed how net of financing that gold mining stocks were an overall loser. i.e. The profits from mining gold were less than the financing made so overall investors were worse off for investing in gold mining. His point was a call for companies to stop over paying for mining rights and to start delivering real profits to investors or else there was not going to be any financing for mining.

Dilution with gold mining stocks

It seems within recent decades to be a constant problem; mining companies that simply never deliver any real profits and need constant financing to keep going. In the 1800s, people became vastly wealthly from mining rights. Today, in 2020 the best mining companies pay a dividend of like 1% and everyone else keeps issuing more and more shares and slowly proceeding towards limited production. Same thing goes in shale oil prospects; all kinds of financing until the price of oil drops and they companies all go bust.

It is rather incredible trying to figure out what or where to invest saved money that will grow and how these companies seem to keep getting more and more new financing every year to keep going.

I do wonder about West kirkland; at least Corvus gold is producing

I do wonder what is going on at West Kirkland. We have have an unexpected run up to $1,700 per oz, and nothing going on towards getting anything into production. Meanwhile, while corvus seems to be overvalued, at least they are in production.

Both can be a hedge against hyperinflation through their gold reserves but the problem with companies like West Kirkland is that they may burn through all their funds until that happens and/or need to get reorganized and wipe out existing shareholders that have been waiting a long time. Meanwhile Corvus is producing and will be around no matter how long it takes.

Corvus Gold Makes New, Large, Discovery Below Mother Lode Deposit with 125.5m @ 2.6 g/t Gold including 14.8m @ 8.9 g/t Gold & 24.7m @ 4.9 g/t Gold
Press Release | 05/13/2020
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 13, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Corvus Gold Inc. (“Corvus” or the “Company”) - (TSX: KOR, OTCQX: CORVF) announces it has received results from the initial deep core hole from the Central Intrusive Zone “CIZ” target and discovered a large new gold mineralized zone below the known existing Mother Lode deposit (Figure 1 & Table 1). Key mineralized zone highlights from hole ML19-123CT include:

Upper Oxide Zone 42.9m @ 0.72 g/t Au incl. 11.1m @ 1.4 g/t Au
Main Sulfide Zone 38.2m @ 2.0 g/t Au incl. 5.7m @ 2.6 g/t Au & 28m @ 2.1 g/t Au
CIZ 125.5m @ 2.56 g/t Au incl. 14.8m @ 8.9 g/t Au & 24.7m @ 4.3 g/t Au
CIZ 74.7m @ 0.62 g/t Au incl. 5m @ 1.73 g/t Au & 9.2m @ 1.56 g/t Au
The CIZ is an oxidized high-angle intrusive dike swarm, first discovered in late 2019 (NR19-19, Dec.5, 2019, ML19-119, 50.3m @ 1.50 g/t Au) below the known Mother Lode deposit. Subsequent RC drilling at the CIZ was generally ineffective at being able to drill through the zone although a few holes partially tested it with encouraging results (NR20-01, Jan. 14, 2020, ML19-121, 41m @ 1.60 g/t Au). Hole ML19-123CT is the first diamond core hole in the CIZ target, successfully drilled through the dike swarm encountering broad zones of oxide mineralization within the dikes and surrounding carbonates (Figure 2).

This expanding new discovery is directly related to a broad dike swarm that has increased in width and mineralization intensity with depth. This zone now has nearly a dozen dikes and a higher temperature alteration assemblage, suggesting increasing intrusive activity with depth, which may explain the wider and higher-grade intervals intercepted in the hole (9m @ 10.9 g/t Au, Figure 3).

Hole ML19-123CT is generally oxidized to a depth of 650 metres and preliminary pit modeling suggests that the mineralization intercepted may be amenable to an open-pit design. The success in hole ML19-123CT is being addressed with an initial series of 20 follow-up core holes covering an area 500 metres by 200 metres. This follow-up is designed to test the currently known most productive part of the dike swarm which is 200-300 metres thick with a potential of vectoring in on feeder zones. The potential of this new discovery could be greater in size than the existing Mother Lode deposit (Figure 4).

The highest grade intercept in hole ML19-123CT at our 1 g/t gold cut-off (14.84m @ 8.88 g/t Au) is associated with higher temperature clay alteration, thin stockwork quartz veinlets, low silver and elevated trace elements that are typical with deeper, hotter and more intrusion related gold systems. The characteristics of this type of gold system are encouraging for a much larger and higher-grade system at depth.

Jeffrey Pontius, President and CEO of Corvus, said, “These new results now reveal the potential of the CIZ. We will be evaluating this exciting target with our ongoing innovative core drilling program at Mother Lode. In addition to the ongoing exploration work that is expanding the Mother Lode deposit, development work is also rapidly progressing on our low-Capex, quick to account, Phase1 starter project at North Bullfrog. These exciting Corvus Gold developments are highlighting the potential of the Bullfrog District and along with new land acquisitions and discoveries by our neighboring production companies it is shining a bright light on this under explored area of Nevada. We expect that the Bullfrog District and Corvus Gold will become one of the major focuses of the Nevada and North American gold sector in 2020.”

They issued another promotional video - sorry - not buying the Schtick any longer. I have zero faith or trust with west kirkland - it’s been a massive waste of time for many years, to watch no dirt to shovel. I think it’s going nowhere fast. IF Hasbrouck was all that and then some - there would have been serious advancement by now. How many years- and where are they? IF it had that much GOLD- it would have been developed and or flipped by now IMO- to someone who will have already DONE SOMETHING WITH IT- like actually mined? How refreshing would that be? Idc what press release they put out, who has any time to give any serious consideration to it, honestly? But yet they discuss how much they allegedly saved by taking time with permitting and being cost conscious? Oh and their going for 2nd permit? LOL WHOOPY DANG. Show me GOLD. What’s that gotten public shareholders in how many years? Wish they’d sell it and be done with it, let them focus on his platinum mine which is in operation in another entity. If they did flip it- hopefully it’s to another NV mining operator that trades and we get some shares spun out so we can start getting our long term dead money - back while rest of stock market and S & P went through roof. How many years and still not dirt to shovel? Joke. Then you look at Corvus and the history of bullfrog and it’s like okay - they get things done here. But to have that many wasted years of watching Hasbrouck and what appears to be no real serious interest in advancing it over the years besides just taking way too long for permitting - IMO- it’s not to be taken serious any further from my perspective. Not with my money they won’t be. Nor my patients or time. I’d rather sink it In here. Or Jesus - any other mining entity long as they actually mine. Look at New Jersey Miining - in North Idaho in silver valley. Their getting it done - no BS- no foot dragging. No promotional videos. Just doing their jobs blasting top of a mountain off, and they even have their own mill. Plus they have underground hard rock mining. What exactly has west kirkland done in how many years? Exactly. Corvus they get it done.

West Kirkland IMHO is the joke of Nevada. I do not have any confidence they’ll ever mine it. Too many years gone by. Talk talk talk, or not much talking at all actually. In business, do it or don’t do it. It’s just amother barren rocky hill in Nevada. Yeah ....let’s just issue PR’s for YEARS. Corvus actually MINES. The Walker Trend is making money. West Kirkland for some reasons - never advanced it to date dirt to shovel. Sad.

Same guys affiliated with Corvus are overseeing testing at Hycroft (formerly Allied Nevada) for sulfide heap leach columns. I posted it here because they have similiar type of sulfide and are both working with the same lab.

I am looking

I am taking a look here after hearing about this from a podcast, QTR. It looks interesting.

The big variable is what happens with the price of gold. For whatever reason, the price of gold seems to have started to move up this year.

I noticed in their presentation a NPV at the higher price of around $900 million. Based on a current market cap of around $200 million the stock should move up.

The big obstacles are that the project will require something like $400 million to start, plus the company is projecting a year or two of losing $10 million, so someone is going to have to fund this to get the value.

The ideal situation, I think, would be for a large company to do a merger in an all stock deal at a premium to the current price.

Go Corvus Gold! I just saw a brief local news segment here in Nevada that suggests a local company has hit a nice amount of Silver and Gold at the Bullfrog Mines. Not sure if it is Corvus Gold but this could be great for shareholders if it turns out to be COFVF!

Tue, 10 Jun 2014 12:00:00 GMT ~ Corvus Gold Initial Gravity and Cyanide Leaching Tests Return High Recoveries Averaging 89% for Gold and 73% for Silver from the Main Vein/Stockwork Zone, Yellowjacket Deposit, North Bullfrog Project, Nevada
[PR Newswire] - Highlights: Coarse grind size of 65 mesh for gravity separation & 100 mesh for tail leaching tests VANCOUVER, June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ - Corvus Gold Inc. ("Corvus" or the "Company") - (TSX: KOR, OTCQX: CORVF) announces the results of the initial follow-up gravity gold recovery testing and cyanide leaching of the gravity tail material from the main vein and stockwork core of the Yellowjacket deposit. These test samples are representative of an estimated 70% of the gold and 85% of the silver within the Yellowjacket deposit estimated resource (follow-up to initial grind size test results announced in NR14-13, May 5, 2014). These initial results have produced high weighted recoveries for this zone, with an average of 89.2% for gold and 73% for silver (Tables 1 and 2). Of interest, 40% of the gold (weighted average) recovers via gravity separation with the concentrate reporting to just 0.06% of the processed material (a very high concentration ratio of greater than 1500 to 1). The residual tail material after the gravity separation process produced an average weighted recovery in cyanide bottle roll tests of approximately 84% for gold and 71% for silver, which is similar to the average gold recovery from the oxide heap leach material. In addition, reagent consumptions are low as in earlier studies, averaging below 0.15 kg/t CN and about 1.5 kg/t for lime. Test work is ongoing for the surrounding, primarily lower grade, material hosting the remaining estimated 30% of gold and 15% of silver within the Yellowjacket deposit.

I am liking what I am seeing about this company. Good possibility that we will be buying a few shares on a price dip and after waiting a few weeks to see how events in Europe transpire.

These two are linked...

International Tower Hill Mines (THM) and Corvus Gold (CORVF)

http://finance.uncommonwisdomdaily.com/reports/misc/video.php?1134355812001

Didn't realize Pontius is running Corvis Gold. Just posted on that board as well. This is another to keep on watch.

Pontius and his team went off to run Corvus Gold, which is a spin-off of THM. Here, in this video filmed in Fairbanks, Pontius talks about what he thinks makes International Tower Hill such a value: http://bit.ly/o1d4hQ

Could this be a hidden gem? This recently bottomed in July. I've just requested stockcharts to put the chart up for this ticker CORVF. Will keep this one on watch. $8 million in the bank and a cash burn rate of $2.5 million per year which gives them plenty of time to find something.

Fastsix can you post the Powerpoint Presentation they did on
September 1, 2011? It's on their website.

On watch.
