announced that RED by HBO
acquired the Southeast Asia licensing rights
of iQIYI new original crime series The
Thunder (the "Series").
Released on iQIYI's online video platform on May 7, the 48-episode series tells the story
about Li Fei, a young antidrug
police officer, as he tackles China's biggest drug trafficking ring based in
a remote village in South China.
Under the deal, the series is expected to be broadcasted
by RED by HBO in 11 countries and regions in
Southeast Asia. The series is also
planned for future releases in North
America and other countries.
RED by HBO is a channel of HBO Asia that
focuses primarily on high-quality Asian contents, all of which
are presented in their original language, with localized subtitles
available.
