Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. (SBGI) confirmed a deal to buy 21 regional sports networks from Walt Disney Co. (DIS) at an enterprise value of $10.6 billion.

The Wall Street Journal previously reported that the parties were near a deal worth more than $10 billion.

Sinclair said Byron Allen, who owns The Weather Channel, will be an equity and content partner in a new holding company.
