Results of Operations and Financial Condition.

On July 24, 2019, Cara Therapeutics, Inc. (the Company) filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the SEC) a preliminary
prospectus supplement pursuant to Rule 424(b) of the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the Securities Act), in which the Company disclosed that, as of June 30, 2019, it had approximately $135.6 million of cash, cash
equivalents and marketable securities.
The information in this Item 2.02 is being furnished and shall not be deemed filed for the purposes of
