Business Wire
Carrier Access Corporation (Nasdaq: CACSE), a leading provider of
broadband communications equipment, and Acme Packet(R), the leader
in Session Border Control (SBC), announced compatibility between
Carrier Access Adit(R) 3104 Business Gateway and the Acme Packet
Net-Net(R) session border controllers. As a result, service
providers will be able to easily deliver enhanced Voice-over-IP
(VoIP) and other real-time interactive IP-based services and
applications to business and government users. The Adit 3104 was
tested with the Net-Net Session Director (SD) in various real-world
calling scenarios, with successful results, achieving complete
compatibility. Additionally, the companies confirmed two mutual
service provider customers are currently in trials with the same
configuration. "With Acme Packet's continued leadership in the SBC
market, it only made sense to continue the interoperability efforts
that we began with the Adit 600 several years ago," said Marty
Hahnfeld, senior vice president, Converged Access, Carrier Access.
"Compatibility with Acme Packet's Net-Net SD is a key step in our
effort to provide our customers with best-of-breed solutions."
"Acme Packet's Net-Net session border controllers are
interoperating with a long and ever-expanding list of the
industry's leading IP-based products in service provider networks
around the world," noted Seamus Hourihan, vice president marketing
and product management, Acme Packet. "By supporting
interoperability between Carrier Access' Adit Business Gateway line
and our session border controllers, we provide our customers with a
truly carrier-class solution for the delivery of secure,
high-quality real-time communications across IP networks."
Field-proven and backed by extensive interoperability partnerships,
