Purchasing Managers' survey from the UK is due on Tuesday, headlining a light day for the European economic news.

At 2.30 am ET, the Federal Statistical Office is set to publish Swiss consumer prices for August. Inflation is expected to remain unchanged at 0.3 percent.

At 3.00 am ET, Spain's monthly unemployment data is due. In the meantime, consumer and producer prices from Turkey and final trade data from Hungary are due. Turkey's inflation is forecast to ease slightly to 15.58 percent in August from 16.65 percent in July.

At 4.30 am ET, IHS Markit releases UK construction PMI data. The index is forecast to rise slightly to 45.9 in August from 45.3 in July.

At 5.00 am ET, Eurostat publishes euro area producer prices for July. Economists forecast producer price inflation to slow slightly to 0.2 percent from 0.7 percent in June.
